Note: You may experience slower delivery due to COVID-19. Canada Post announced that it is suspending the on-time delivery guarantees for all of its parcel services until further notice.

I ship worldwide! I ship using Canada Post Expedited for all packages and prints within Canada and the US (unless you choose otherwise). All packages, except those sent lettermail, come with a tracking number.

If you live outside of Canada/US and are interested in a large painting (over 36 inches in length), please contact me for a shipping quote.

Please note you will be responsible for all duties, taxes, and customs charges that incur.

Canada/US: Prints ship for a flat rate of $15 in Alberta Shipping to the rest of Canada and the US is $18. Shipping is on us on all print orders over $250.

International: Prints ship for a flat rate of $30.

The price for original paintings to be shipped varies on size/destination.

Great question!

Small art prints (5x7 and 8x10) ship in a no-bend mailer. Larger art prints (12x12, 12x16, 18x24, 20x20, and 24x36) are rolled and shipped in a mailing tube. If you order a combination of small and large prints, they will be rolled together and shipped in a mailing tube. Note: in an effort to reduce waste, prints are wrapped in recyclable acid-free tissue paper and do not ship individually wrapped in plastic sleeves.

Original paintings vary by size and may need to be shipped using different materials. Most paintings are wrapped in protective materials and packaged in a corrugated cardboard box.

Typically, paintings with a side longer than 36 inches are removed from their stretcher bars, rolled, and shipped in a tube to be restretched at their destination. I'm happy to help you through this process - just ask! :)

All fine art prints are made to order. Prints take 3-5 business days to be processed and shipped out, and original paintings can take up to 7 business days. If your order has already been processed, I am unable to make any changes. If your order is still in processing and has not yet shipped, please reach out to me as soon as possible to inquire about making a change to your order.

Trust me - I hate when this happens, too!

Once your order leaves my studio, it's passed off to the courier for shipping. Please keep in mind that shipping time frames are not guaranteed, as weather and mail volume can affect delivery. When your order is shipped, you'll receive a shipping confirmation email containing the tracking number to follow along on your packages' journey. If your order becomes delayed or lost, I will need to file a claim with the courier. Please reach out to me as soon as possible.

Lettermail does not include a tracking number or insurance if your package is lost. It is at your own risk.

Mistakes happen, I get it.

If you enter the wrong shipping address, please reach out to me immediately. If your package is still processing, I can update your address. However, this is not a possibility after it has shipped. I am not able to redirect an order once it has left the studio - sorry!

Please review all order details before submitting your order. I am not responsible for packages delivered to an incorrect, closed, or undeliverable address. If your package is "returned to sender," you are responsible for any shipping charges or fees associated with the return or reshipment to the correct address.

I've got you covered.

When you place your order, you will receive an order confirmation with your order's full details. Your order will take up to 3-5 business days to process. When your order has shipped or is ready to be picked up, you'll receive an additional email with a tracking number or pickup details. Check the tracking information regularly to follow along on your packages' journey. Please keep in mind that shipping time frames are not guaranteed, as weather and mail volume can affect delivery.

I cannot provide any updates for orders sent with lettermail as they do not include tracking information.

All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges. Please e-mail with any questions prior to placing your order.

If something arrives damaged, please email a photo and your order number within 3 days of delivery to orders@amydixon.ca.

Most of my work is in acrylic. I also sometimes incorporate other materials like oil pastels and graphite.

I generally release new work in collections - so 15-20 paintings at a time within a specific theme 3-4 times a year. The best way to stay informed of new releases is to sign up for my newsletter and follow along on Instagram.

No–sorry! All of my art is sold unframed unless otherwise noted in the product listing.

If you're local to Edmonton, my go-to spots are:

The Gilded Rabbit

Mill Creek Picture Framing

Glenora Gallery

All artwork and products are measured in inches unless otherwise stated. I use the Imperial system.

I try my best to make sure the colours represented online are as close as possible to the actual product. However, because your screen monitor may be different than mine, I can't guarantee they'll be exact. If you need more pictures of a specific piece, just let me know - I'd be happy to send more!

No, I don't. Sorry!

I retain all rights to all artwork I create. This includes the rights to the image of sold and commissioned original paintings. The collector or buyer may not reproduce the artwork in any way without written permission. When you purchase an original painting you, the collector, have the right to display the artwork in your home or business but the artwork may not be resold or reproduced without my written permission.

A "fine art print" is also known as a giclee print or archival print. This means it is printed with the best quality archival inks on to archival card to produce a never-fading, museum-quality print that will last a lifetime.

Canvas material naturally has a slightly woven texture, but there is no texture intentionally added to the canvas prints. They're printed the same way as any other print!

Yes, it can be treated like any other print. You can frame it with or without glass, or you can have it stretched at the framers and display it without glass. Options!

Not yet, but maybe one day!

I do my best to offer a variety of sizes of prints. All of the prints on my website are available in every size I can produce in high quality.

Simply put, a commission painting is a fancy way of saying that we work one-on-one to create a special painting just for you.

I only accept a few commissions per year to allow myself time to balance painting custom work with other projects. When I accept commission requests, I always post on Instagram and share it with my newsletter subscribers. You can check if commissions are open here.

I like this question! Typically, my most common type of commission are variations of past work.

No, I want to respect all artists and their work, and this doesn't align with that.

Instead, I'd suggest looking at my past work and finding a piece to serve as inspiration.

I like to ensure that each client's piece is original, so I never set out to exactly replicate a painting. However, I'm happy to create a different version of an existing painting that is similar yet unique. We can bring your idea to life without replicating another painting–trust me!

No–sorry! My process is quite intuitive, therefore creating a sketch to adhere to doesn't allow me to do my best work. However, before starting a painting, we chat about important details to include in the piece, the overall composition, colours, and other paintings of mine that you like. All of this information combined allows me to bring our vision to life.

Of course - that's the joy of creating a custom painting! We can play with colours, composition, scale... I'm open to any ideas within the scope of my style and subject matters I paint.

The easiest way to find the ideal sized painting for you is to measure your space and tape the dimensions of the painting you're considering with painters tape. I'm happy to provide feedback and suggestions on the size if you send a few photos of your space where your future painting will live.

The commission process is iterative and when I send along progress photos, we can chat about any changes (colours, small composition changes) you desire. When the painting is complete, there is another opportunity to make small changes before the painting is varnished. Once the painting is approved, signed and varnished, there can be no changes made.

Potentially! It depends on a number of factors (my commission schedule, the size and complexity of the painting). Please include the date you need it by in your initial request and we can discuss. Generally speaking, having a bit of a flexible schedule is best when it comes to custom paintings!

Once you have signed the commission contract, I will send you an invoice for 50% of the total price. The invoice allows for payment through credit card - but if you'd like to pay by e-transfer, that works too! Once the painting is complete, you'll receive an invoice for the remaining 50%.

There are lots of great artists who do portraits, but that's not something I paint. Please take a look at my Previous Collections or Instagram account to get a sense of my painting style.

Cool! I love to collaborate with other creatives. I'd love to hear more. Please email me at info@amydixon.ca with your idea. :)

Yes, I do wholesale some products. Please email me directly if you're interested in carrying any of my products.

No–sorry! This is not a service I offer.

Typically, no. I don't usually have many paintings in my studio available between collection releases.

Supporting my community is very important to me and I collaborate and give back to several charities each year. However, as an independent artist and small business owner, my resources are limited. I wish I could support everything! If you have an idea, feel free to email me with the details.

Please note:

- I don't do live painting.

- I don't donate original art to silent auctions.

- I am generally more interested in supporting causes that support under served populations where I live, in Alberta.
