In celebration of Indigenous History Month (June) and Indigenous People's Day (June 21), I am releasing a new print.
100% of the proceeds from this print will be split and donated to two charities:
The Society is committed to building upon the strengths of Aboriginal Children, youth and families to enable them to grow spiritually, emotionally, physically and mentally so that they can walk proudly in both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities.
Indspire is a national Indigenous registered charity that invests in the education of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people for the long term benefit of these individuals, their families and communities, and Canada.
What Is Indigenous History Month?
It is a time for all Canadians to reflect on the unique histories, sacrifices, cultures, contributions, and strengths of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis Peoples.
National Indigenous History Month invites Indigenous Peoples to celebrate their history in the spirit of pride and preservation. For non-Indigenous Canadians, it is an opportunity to learn and show recognition of the role Indigenous Peoples have played and continue to play in shaping Canada.
I'm honoured to paint and host my business on Treaty 6 Territory, the traditional and ancestral territory or the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Saulteaux and Nakota Sioux and the homeland of the Métis.
It's my hope that, together, we can raise funds for an important cause and adorn your walls with new art.
