August—Edmonton, Alberta

Talk about serendipity! This month's piece features a lovely scene from Edmonton's gorgeous River Valley. And wouldn't you know it, but I'm releasing three pieces this month in a new collection of original work based entirely on that same River Valley. I'm a planner, but this little bit of timing magic was a surprise to me too!

For anyone out of the loop, Edmonton's River Valley is the largest urban park in North America. It's 22 times larger than New York's Central Park, so there's plenty of views to paint!

Painting outside in nature is a major part of my practice, and while I tend to go off exploring outside the city, last year I decided to paint more inside of it. Considering there's so much greenery in the river valley, it was an easy thing to do. This month features a spot I went to with a few other painting pals. If you have any artistic leanings (and even if you don't!), I wholeheartedly encourage you to get outside with some paints, bring some friends, and make an afternoon of it.

And just because I can't possibly pass up an opportunity to showcase the upcoming collection. I'll leave you with a few teases of the upcoming collection featuring Edmonton's crown jewel. Until next month!
