2019 In Review

And just like that we're almost to the end of 2019. Cliche to say, but time really does fly when you're having fun. 2019 was a huge year of growth for me. It was my first full year as a full time artist living in Canada (the year before I also painted full-time, but was travelling for 3/4 of the year). It felt so good to settle in and really sink my teeth into my art practice. I explored new subject matters, played with new material and painted more than I ever have before.
By the numbers, in 2019:
  • 5 collection releases
  • 16 commissioned paintings
  • $5000+ raised for charity
  • 1 mural
  • Countless new connections and friends

In terms of lessons I've learned, I think the biggest take away for me in 2019 in terms of my art practice is that I create my best work when I also take time to slow down, and step away from the studio. This year that meant some trips to the mountains with friends, organizing my holiday schedule in a way to actually get to enjoy Christmas festivities and overall just listening to my body and mind when it told me to slow down and step back. Not an easy task for go-go-go me!

Thank you for all of your support in 2019 - it truly means the world and I'm so grateful that I get to do what I love the most as my job everyday. Wishing you all a wonderful 2020!!
